How long does it take to get approved for HomeWAV? ›

In most cases, your account will be reviewed within a 24-hour time period, and the review process typically doesn't take more than two days. When you open the HomeWAV app or log in, your loved one will receive a notification that you are available, and they may initiate a video call.

Instead, voice and video calls are initiated from your loved one when they have access to a HomeWAV kiosk or tablet. Your loved one will be notified via kiosk or tablet once you are signed into your account and available to connect.

Enhanced Security

HomeWAV uses multiple layers of security to prevent inmate tampering and secure system safety, including: Lockdown browser.

Refunds are automatically generated when an inmate deletes a visitor or when a visitor deletes an inmate. Refunds may be requested manually by logging into your account and choosing the “refund request” option in the account menu.

TextBehind® is a secure nationwide communication service for families, friends and TextPals (pen pals) to consistently stay in touch with their incarcerated loved ones conveniently and affordably.

GTL's GettingOut mobile app is rooted in the power of relationships. It provides simple and reliable communication between inmates and their family and friends -- allowing them to stay connected, even on the go!

Messaging. HomeWAV's all-in-one HomePAS™ kiosk software also offers secure, monitored text, photo, image, and video messaging with a fair and customizable pricing model.

Inmate Chirping. A Messaging Device. User Information. Combined Public Communications and your Facility can provide an option to inmates to rent an Inmate Chirping Device. The inmate gets a dedicated phone number and device to directly Chirp friends and family.

The facility has complete discretion on the use of the texting devices. You will not be able to text other inmates, victims and witness or any other person blocked by the facility. If the facility determines that your behavior is a problem they can terminate the use at any time.

Is the HomeWAV app free? ›

Downloading the app is 100% free, whether you're using iOS or Android. Scan the QR code on our website with your camera or download it straight from your app store to experience the HomeWAV difference for yourself.

Once you've run out of funds in your account, it's easy to add more via your app or by simply visiting our website. It typically costs 10-30 cents per minute to talk, depending on the facility, so take that into account when adding funds. You will also need to add the correct facility and inmate to the account.

Every prisoner is allowed one secure social video call per month.

Incarcerated people with tablets are eligible for 15 minutes of free video calls from their tablet every two weeks. Audio calls made from standard institution wall phones and tablets are always free of charge.

Money can be added to the inmate's phone account through www.homewav.com utilizing the "Deposit Funds NOW!" button at the top of the HomeWAV webpage or by coming on-site and using the HomeWAV kiosk in the lobby.
